Overview
About Me
I'm half-Korean and half-Filipino, and I was born and raised in the Philippines. I graduated in Manila, spent a year in South Korea, and worked for a while in Vienna, Austria. Now I'm back in the Philippines and I've started my own business. I am completely extroverted and I always seek for an adventure. I embrace challenges and appreciate failures. If we're in the same city, let's grab a beer or two!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've tried hosting back when I was in South Korea and the Philippines, and I found the experience unique and worthwhile! I've always been fond of meeting new people, and Couchsurfing provides me an opportunity to establish solid and long-lasting relationships with my hosts and guests.
Interests
Aside from having a passion in business, I like travelling and widening my network in the process. I've been travelling alone as early as 11years old, and haven't stopped since.
I am a very sociable person, and I especially like meeting people from different cultures - learning from them and establishing respectable relationships with them.
Lastly, I love getting lost, especially when I'm in a place I've never been too. The thrill I get from the entire process (realizing I'm lost, analyzing where to go, asking help from random people, and finally finding my way again) is exhilerating. Haha
- culture
Music, Movies, and Books
Lounge, Easy Listening music.
I don't know where to begin with movies! I have a lot of favorites, but the similar trait I like that all of them share is how they get the audience to think and analyze every detail.
I love The Godfather trilogy but I'm more into self-help, business, and leadership books. I love reading books by John Maxwell, Malcolm Gladwell, and the like!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran two businesses while working on my final thesis and working as the associate vice president of human resources of a marketing organization - all in my senior year in college. For a sluggard, I can say that that's quite a feat. Haha
Travel-wise,
- I have lived in China with my friends for 3months back when I was 11.
- I have travelled to England with my friends again when I was 14.
- I travelled alone to Australia for 2months when I was 16.
- I have tried climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
- I have sandsurfed in Port Stephens, Australia.
- I have partied in Boracay, Philippines.
- I have surfed in La Union and Baler, Philippines.
- I have lived in Busan, South Korea alone for a year studying the language.
- I have experienced the Korean style night-outs for too many times. And if I may add, they're the wildest people I've met so far when it comes to partying. I'm looking forward to the next group of people who can top them haha
- I have experienced one of those what-happens-in-amsterdam-stays-in-amsterdam moments
- I have embarked on a road trip around Eastern Mindanao in the Philippines.
- I have gotten on a motorcycle accident while exploring the coastline of Udo Island off the coast of Jeju City, South Korea.
- I spent new years eve of 2013 in South Korea, 2014 in Paris, 2016 in New York City.
I have done quite a lot in my life but I still thirst for more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I always believe that life is a win-win situation. If you win, you win. If you lose, you learn. So don't be afraid to aim high, to strive for excellence! Because even if you stumble and fall, you'll always get something out of it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My future hosts here could benefit from me as well if ever they plan on going to the Philippines! Everytime someone visits me in my hometown, I give them the grand Han Da tour haha ;)
