ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Gregory Manning. I am currently traveling aroundthe US performing in a Bluegrass band after several years of working non stop to complete paying off my student loans. I just quit working a 9-5 day job, teaching music lessons, and performing in two regionally touring groups to begin a new chapter of my life. I am incredibly positive person who enjoys great conversation and laughter. I am a "people" person by all accounts. I have 18 years exp. in playing the guitar, hold a High School Diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy in guitar performance, and a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from DePaul University School of Music in Chicago IL. I am also a trained vocalist. I LOVE creativity and inspiration!

PHILOSOPHY

I am a beacon of positive energy. This has been my only objective for quite some time. I feel that life is full of opportunity of every kind, it is only a matter of knowing how to find those chances, that we can enjoy what brief time we are on this earth for.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will host at any given point in time, however I have lived in such a small community that I had no offers perviously. I have housed many musicians, and travelers during my time spend in Chicago, and South Korea. Just not though Couch Surfing. I will offer accommodations in the US as soon as I return!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have met some of the greatest people, learned many new things, and was also able to provide people with truly unique great exp. ITS BEEN WONDERFUL!!!

Interests

I really enjoy being able to provide music for the individuals allow me to stay. Usually I will play a concert or a show and the afterward will continue to play. People are certainly welcome to ask for an in home concert as well. I enjoy the art of conversation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a very successful music theory, vocal, and guitar instructor. I have taught TOEFL and ESL classes professionally. The guitar studio which I just left behind me had a maximum capacity of 20 students. Many had stayed with me for over 2 years.

I have always wanted to learn how to dance.
