About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live and teach yoga compassionately, while trying to figure out how to make travel a full time gig

ABOUT ME

I love practicing and teaching yoga and "yoga geeking out" about the details of asana. I also love sunshine, the beach, the ocean, the pool next to the beach, the sand between my toes - ALL things warm & sunny! I learned to surf a couple of years ago in Southern California, but i need to relearn. I am in love with the Big Island of Hawaii. I plan to travel in South America for a bit in the next year or two, as well as Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and The Canary Islands.

The Amala Foundation, a non-profit I volunteer with, is very near and dear to my heart, so please check it out and get involved, if you feel inspired to.

I am open to traveling and working almost anywhere with a good vibe and lots of sunshine. I look forward to meeting new and interesting people from all over the globe, including you!

PHILOSOPHY

Live compassionately ~ Love fearlessly ~ Laugh uncontrollably :0)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined CS at the suggestion of some great friends who took a 7 month journey/honeymoon and had nothing less than great experiences within the CS network. I joined CS, then went to Hawaii for a month of self inquiry, and had an amazing experience, thanks to my first host. Upon returning to Austin, I was invited to an ATX meet up ~ life hasn't been the same since. I've met the best friends anyone could hope for, and I try to be the best I can to them and any visiting surfers. Come see us in Austin!!!! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every experience I've had has been wonderful. I've met amazing, compassionate people and I've had a great time! The trust potential within this organization is amazing and leaves me very hopeful about the future of our world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Years ago, I raised $4500 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and ran a marathon in Cozumel for Team in Training (a program they sponsor) in honor of my dad, who died of pancreatic cancer. In 2010, I ran a 1/2 marathon for the same reason.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Yoga, anatomy & physiology (I'm no expert, but I'm fascinated with the human body and the aspects of preventative care for it - I'm a bit of a mind/body nerd :)

Learn: SPANISH - teach me, PLEASE! :), photography (bought a canon rebel XS for my hawaiin adventure, I am fascinated with it and love to capture what i see, but would love to learn some mad skills with it :)

I am also open to suggestion on where to travel, how to travel on a budget, how to work in other countries, or anything of the sort that you think I might be interested in!

Specifically, I would love to learn Capoeira, salsa dancing, to juggle, to spin fire, and new hula hooping skills.

Share: stories, experiences, couches, fun in the sun, random play, ideas on how to make travel and experiencing the world a full time job/play.
