About Me

ABOUT ME
Previously I was teaching but now I manage 9 training units that train teachers on technology integration for teaching and learning. Being a teacher runs in my veins. I love learning and teaching new things. Understanding how a person thinks about life is fascinating. I strive for variety in my life and enjoy diversity and uniqueness of people.

PHILOSOPHY
When Mr. Opportunity comes knocking, ask him for a dance. For the rest, you will have to come and visit me...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When hosting I try to be the best local. When I travel I hope to have some memorable local experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few times and have gained new friendships in the process. Staying with locals during my visit to Italy and Iceland enhanced the overall experience of the trip and I wish others to experience the same. I favour the idea of meeting people of different nationalities and sharing experiences in countries I visit.

Interests

Dancing, sharing views on interesting topics, the teaching and learning culture of different countries,
Photography, language, I'm keen on trying new things and that includes local food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Being a Christian I do enjoy finding inspiration in the Bible
Novels by John Grisham
Most movies I find enjoyable and relaxing
When it comes to music I love old-time favourites and any kind that gets me moving/dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

LIFE IS TOO INTERESTING FOR HAVING ONE HIGHLIGHT:
I met the trolls of Iceland and the mother of Father Christmas, Griela.
I were snatched as a baby but found within minutes.
I was awarded as National Teacher of the Year in 2012.
I have co-authored a few books for a well-known publisher in our country (Van Schaik).
I have used my broken Italian and Second Language English to teach a Spanish boy Afrikaans - he studied hard and passed Afrikaans second language with a distinction.
I have experience in most dance styles even Flamenco.
I can play the bongo, piano, and Spanish castanets (All are a bit rusty though)

Countries I’ve Visited

Iceland, Italy, Lesotho, Portugal, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Africa
