I am a young 55 year old woman, currently in between homes, and looking for a place or places to stay while doing my search. I have my degree, and am working toward getting my State License. In the meantime, I do photography and am working on building my business. I live in Santa Barbara, which I love, and grew up on the Central Coast, which is one of my favorite places to be, although I do love to travel, see new places, have been up the Pacific Coast to Alaska, spent time in the Midwest, Florida, and a bit of the Southwest. I love meeting new people, getting to know them and their backgrounds, various cultures, and just spent some time at a hostel that was fabulous, having met several people from other places, and having great conversations at night on the back patio.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking for a place to live, am in between homes, and need some time still to continue my search. I have heard good things about couchsurfing, so I thought I would give it a try.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a rather eclectic taste in music, so ask me. The list would be long! Movies is the same, although I enjoy comedy, drama, anything with a good plot line and relationships that are interesting, beyond the usual rom-com although those are fun too. My favorite movie is Life As a House. Books: Also several. Don't know that I can pinpoint a favorite. Also an eclectic mix of positive stories of people sharing their struggles and hopes and how they have navigated through life, such as Anne Lamott. I also love Biographies. I love knowledge and learning, but haven't had much time lately to spend on that, and I miss it. I have read almost all of Sue Grafton's Mystery Novels from A-V, and hope to get to the rest when I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, there are more than one, but I would say the first thing that comes to mind is having climbed to both the top of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am also a teacher part time, so that does come naturally to me, however, I do not push anything on anyone. If you are interested in having me teach you something, just ask. If I know how to do it, I'd be happy to show you. I am open to learning about just about anything in the world. I am a sponge. I'm also open to sharing conversation, extra food that I have, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time.
