CURRENT MISSION

Travelling, to have the possibility of share with people of different cultures, to learn from other people and teach about my own culture and idiosyncrasy. Eating, walking, travelling in subway, visiting the city markets!

ABOUT ME

I'm Klaus. I have a German first name and a German last name, but I'm quite Chilean (no, I don't speak or even understand German). I am 22 years old.
I was born in Antofagasta, in the northern Chile. I grew up in Villa Alemana, near Valparaiso. Right now I am studying in Santiago.
I'm going to Med School. I am already in 5th year. I really enjoy of going all over Santiago, visiting the most beautiful and typical places of the city. I also enjoy to have the chance to show these places to foreign tourists.
I love History. Read about it and understand how our cultures, our cities, our food, our music and all of our lives are determined by the events that preceded us. And I love the foreign cuisine (without devalue Chilean food), cooking it and eat it. I believe that Peruvian food is the best in the world, but I also enjoy Thai, Mexican, Italian and French cuisine.

PHILOSOPHY

To live for learning, to learn for reflecting, to reflect for understanding, to understand for changing, to change for improving.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I cannot receive people at home, because I am student and I live with my family. Beside, I live almost 15 miles from downtown and Santiago's touristic places.
Nevertheless, I can always offer city tours if someone is interested and I don't have an exam the next day-

Interests

As I said, I enjoy of walking through the cities, go to all kind of restaurants, cafés and city markets in the cities I visit, going to museums and historical places.
At night, visiting the bohemian neighbourhoods, going to pubs or discos.
Beside, I love History, Political Sciences, Gastronomy, Theatre and Arts.

Books: not so many. When I was a child, my favourite writer was Jules Verne, "Cien Años de Soledad", "Pantaleón y las Visitadoras"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I crossed the Atacama Desert in the evening, and I saw the sunset between the desertic mountains.

When I "went of tapas" in Madrid and I ate all kind of appetizers.

When I saw the night view of Prague.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach of Chilean and Latin American History, Chilean and Peruvian cuisine, maybe an approach to Medical Sciences. I can teach Spanish language.
