ABOUT ME
My life's been a crazy journey that started in a cultish church, then I escape through a quixotic jump into the army, got disillusioned by that experience, and have devoted myself to learning about (and doing activism around) social justice, the human thought process, the power of social groups, etc. Currently, I'm attempting to translate all that into a career as a social worker/counselor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I left the army, I walked/biked across the U.S. for 6 months to promote alternatives to war and was generously hosted by many kind and interesting people along that journey. Since then, I've been able to open my home up to surfers and have had many great experiences with those who have stayed with my housemates and I.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience has been nothing but positive. Some of the most interesting, inspiring people I've ever met have been through couchsurfing. Through it, I've stayed at co-ops and communes and with all kinds of fascinating people. I also got to meet Noam Chomsky and Helen Thomas through one of my hosts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent six months walking/biking across the country and each day was an adventure. From staying at a commune in NY to riding with wild horses in WY to cruising along the coast of CA, it was an amazing journey and one that gave me a refreshing view on the America you don't see on TV and on the humanity we all share.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've tried to study alot of politics, religion, current events, etc. hoping to learn to make the world a better place. Maybe I've studied something you're interested in learning about or I can learn from you.
