Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Stéfanie and I couch surf because I think the more people you know, the more the world seems like a hopeful place.
I've realized lately that though I like traveling, I like connecting with people more and understanding the little things about their lives... what they grew up wanting to do with their lives, what kind of food makes them feel like they are home, what they do on a typical week night, what music their moms forced them to listen to growing up... you know, that good stuff!
My life right now doesn't allow me to travel extensively but I like to meet travellers anyways, to hear why they chose to travel in the way they do, so that I can decide what kind of traveler I want to be and what is most important to me.
I'm also a Christian, so my beliefs are a big part of my life. I am open-minded, respectful and interested in those I meet no matter what they choose to believe in or do with their lives.
If you couch surf with me I'm interested in being friends, not necessarily just giving you a place to stay! You definitely can come and go as you please though. Just know that I'd love to chat and give you what time I have available.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couchsurf and I would love to host too -- if the timing lines up!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for my first time in India. My friend Israel set it up since three of us where traveling in the North for about ten days. It fit our budget but more importantly it was great to meet local people and to make new friends!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I scuba dived off a beach in Hawaii at night once with about 20 manta rays! It was one of those moments that didn't even feel real. WOW. Top 5 most special experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach : I make pretty good shakshouka, hummus, ramen, and a few french Canadian dishes that I'd love to show you how to make
Learn : I like to cook -- especially food from other countries (cuz it feels like traveling even when I can't physically leave Canada). So if you'd like to show me something I'd be super happy!
Also, I love to learn how people make the most of their traveling -- what are your philosophies?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some french/english lessons, some Canadian political history, and I'm happy to help in any way I can while I'm there (cooking, cleaning, etc.)
