About Me

Hey all, My name is Brendan and I'm a 25 year old from Melbourne, Australia. I am a sports lover and skiing fanatic.
I am about to embark on a short trip in the states where I hope to live and do like the locals do. Who can help?
I am so excited to see what happens and for all the experiences I will be privileged enough to experience throughout this next trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing to meet locals and have a true travelling experience. I feel that the best way to truly experience a new place is to not be a tourist and instead live like the locals do & step out of my comfort zone. I have spent months at a time living in hostels in the past and have grown weary of the constant coming and going of new friends without being able to spend enough time together to fully solidify a lasting friendship. Im hoping with couchsurfing that i can truly make meaningful connections with people from all over the world that will last the test of time and distance.

Interests

I'm interested in all sorts of things however my main interests are in sports, I am an avid Richmond football club (AFL) supporter, and a experienced skier, I have also fallen in love with travelling and meeting new and interesting people from throughout the world. I intend to spend alot of my life travelling and hope to have visited 50 countries by the time I am 30,
I am always happy to Help out, have a chat and a drink, go try the local cuisine or help with your English and many more things.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music interests are quite wide. I enjoy all sorts of music however my favourite genre would have to be somewhere within the skate/surf alternative rock scene including such bands as Wavves, Dune Rats, Violent Soho and many more.

My movie interests however are more particular. I thoroughly enjoy true stories and biographical movies. But I always enjoy a good action or thriller movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have luckily had the opportunity to backpack around Europe twice for a total of 6 months. most of the time of which I was alone, in my short time travelling I have visited over 30 countries. I also spent 18 months living in Japan on a working holiday visa. I met so many wonderful people and had so many amazing experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I can share with hosts in a physical aspect is the ability to cook, clean & do many things to make their life easier when I am their guest.

On a more intellectual level i am able to share my stories and experiences with them. Provide some sound advice on many of the countries I have been to and also provide good company. I am always happy to engage in a conversation of any topic and am always eager to learn more about something I know little about. I am able help you practice your english and would love in return for you to inform me on your language, whatever it may be.
