About Me

Hi everyone!
I'm a laid back catalan guy from Barcelona, in the north-east of Spain. Most likely you know my city because of Gaudí's architecture and Sagrada Família.

I studied architecture, which I guess gave me a technical but also creative approach to life. So I like buildings but I really like urbanism too and understanding how cities work. I think they are one of the most complex human inventions.

I consider myself quite social and I like to spend my time outdoors, either getting to know amazing cities or hiking on the mountains. I actually backpacked several times, during Interrail trips in Europe or just along hiking routes.

I think most of the people have something to offer to your life and you can learn from them. So I'm open to any kind of plans, from a coffee to travel around... hit me up! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I'm currently in China for some months, just arrived some days ago and I already find it an amazing country!!

I'm passionate about languages and chinese is one of the languages I'm learning now, so it would be AMAZING to practice with any local :) 我只会说一点儿中文,我已经学习两年中文了。我非常喜欢中国啊!

I would actually get to know the true Chinese life, what you usually do with your friends, "tourist-made" stuff get me a bit sick... So I'd be glad if you could show me a tiny bit of your daily life :)

Interests

I'm really passionate about travelling and languages, I think it's really beautiful to see how different cultures in the world have different approaches to life and their ways of living, and specially how that is reflected in language. I actually would like to learn every language, if possible!

It also catches my attention every cultural expression through music, art, architecture, dances... We live in such a diverse world and it's a pity we won't ever know half of it...!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have an specific kind of music I listen to, but I would say one of the top would be songwriters, traditional, pop, and of course, when going out, partying music too. I really like musicals and if I had the chance I would go more often to watch them.

Regarding books, I read fantasy (like Tolkien) and novels, but the genre I lately fancy the most are distopies (like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?). One of the best books I ever read is Aldous Huxley's "A Brave New World".

About films, I like the ones which make you unease or that don't have a clear explanation and generate debate. For exemple, Memento, Inception or Shutter Island. Also Hard Candy was quite shocking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if you know much about Spanish or Catalan traditions, but I joined "Castellers". Castellers is a group of people which gather to build human towers, and so I did! I'm usually one of the guys supporting the tower in the lower levels.

Here you have a couple of links so you can now more about it! This tradition is actually UNESCO world Heritage!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I mentioned before, I'm quite an open guy and really love practising languages. So if you wan to learn a bit of the languages I speak, feel free to ask! (Spanish, Catalan, English and French).

Of course I'm up for going out and having fun together! :)
