About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go everywhere, meet everyone, do everything!

ABOUT ME

Have been all over the planet and done many amazing things.

Currently, me and my girlfriend Beth are going where the house sits and opportunities take us. Wherever that may be. We have a loose plan to be in NZ in Feb 2015, Travel what remains for us of Asia in Oct 2015, and to visit home in Dec 2015. After that we're thinking Canada or Japan, who knows!

We're very liberal, easy going, and always up to try new things.

PHILOSOPHY

To go everywhere, meet everyone, do everything!

I don't believe life has to be lived the way people are told it does, I don't think there are any limits on travelling, experimenting, changing. I believe that if a person keeps a clear head, and keeps trying, their life can be as exciting and rich in their 90's as it was in their 20's.

I don't think you're ever done learning, and I think the best way to learn is to travel and to meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't yet, but if it works half as well as I know it could, I'll be participating as much as possible!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None whatsoever, we're house sitters, so generally when we stay at someone's place, they aren't there, we're surrounded by animals, and we look after their property. The CS experience is similar in some ways, but different enough to mean we're very excited to try it out.

Interests

Travelling, photography, painting, reading, writing, cooking, exercising, trying new things, everything. I like to collect new experiences and if I haven't tried something before (within reason) I'll seek out the opportunity to give it a go. For example, as I write this, today's opportunity was to collect honey from a beehive. It was great!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all genre's of music but my current favourite is Folk or Indie. Generally I prefer people who play their own instruments.

As for books, my Goodreads account tells me I've currently read 346, and I've liked most of them, so I won't start listing them here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost impossible to narrow down so the best I can do is to list 3 of the best:

Sitting on the edge of the Grand Canyon!
Doing NZ's biggest Bungy!
Working with kids with Muscular Dystrophy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught quite a few things in my life. Originally Martial Arts, some Parkour, IT, English, Fitness and Nutrition.

Being a book worm/geek I know a little bit about quite a lot, so can contribute to the learning of subjects as diverse as Philosophy and Physics to Memorization Techniques and Toki Pona! (look it up) I'd also love to earn more about these things myself, so conversations about novel topics and shared interests are always welcome.

What I Can Share with Hosts

While travelling we spend most of our time as house/pet sitters so we are very experienced with looking after pets and properties. We LOVE to cook and so are always happy to do that for our hosts. But generally we can offer open and sincere conversation and a genuine interest in getting to know our hosts and the places they call home!
