About Me
Hey there! My name is Kara and I just moved from the US to France to work as an English teaching assistant. I love traveling and meeting people from all over the world. I have met some amazing and interesting people through couchsurfing, and I always love to make new connections. I'm a pretty laid-back person who is up for new experiences. Anyone who can teach me something and broaden my perspective on life is worth knowing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people from all walks of life, making new friends, and just generally having kick-ass experiences. I love to cook all different kinds of cuisine, so if you can teach me a new recipe, we will definitely be friends :D
Interests
I absolutely love music of all kinds. I also cook for myself almost every day, and I'm always interested in finding new (semi) healthy recipes. I love to be outside in nature any way I can. I'm an avid kayaker, especially in the summer, and I also love to go camping with friends. I love anything that expands my mind, which is why conversations with couchsurfers are generally amazing! I also try to do yoga every day, although I'm definitely no expert.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'll listen to just about anything! I'm currently listening to a lot of Alt J, Grimes, Kendrick Lamar, Animal Collective, the Shins, and Granville. I'm always down to listen/learn about new music.
Movies: I watch too many of them, but some of my favorites are "Blue is the Warmest Color", "The Last King of Scotland", "Beasts of No Nation", and "Atonement."
Books: I'm currently reading a book by Leonard Mlodinow about the unconscious mind. It's super interesting, and different from what I normally read. My all-time favorite books are "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk, "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger, "1984" by George Orwell, "Into the Wild" and "Into Thin Air" by John Krakauer, and of course, "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went skinny dipping in the ocean in Capri with my good friend on a really hot day when we were vacationing there. It was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, and we didn't let our lack of swimsuits stop us from enjoying the beautiful water :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook a delicious meal and share stories from my life and travels. I love sharing my favorite musicians, and learning about yours. I'm fairly spontaneous and I'm always up for a new experience!
