CURRENT MISSION

Currently we are both working full time and getting out and exploring during the weekends. We plan to do one international trip and a smaller trips in the states each year until our 40th birthdays. Then we plan on quitting our jobs and travelling for a few years then returning to the states and travelling with work until we retire. So, for now, we are saving.

We are heading to Iceland 2015 and Nepal 2016 and Norway 2017. We have some plans to do some road trips and visit as many National Parks, see as many sunrises, climb as many mountains, ride our bikes as much as possible, and spend more and more time connecting with nature every year.

A couple that enjoys having new adventures and exploring this beautiful world. Very open and easy going. Enjoy meeting new people and unique experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

I wouldn't say either of us really prescribe to any one philosphy in particular. We tend to be more progressive and counter- culture in our opinions. Neither of us are religious, but I (Phil) tend to have more of a Pantheistic belief in nature, science, and love.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We much prefer camping in the wilderness, but when in urban environments we prefer surfing or hostels where you are more likely to interact and connect with people. We also like the concept of sharing our home with others. We have had the pleasure of hosting people in our home as well as traveling around Oregon, Chile, Argentina, and most recently Canada couch surfing both as a couple and SaRah was traveling alone for 2 months in Chile and Argentina.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our first experience was traveling to Bend and meeting Kate. She is pretty much the nicest person ever and we are so fortunate to know her. Since our fist experience, we have met many other wonderful people through CS. It is so amazing to meet others that enjoy traveling, meeting new people and sharing new experiences.

CS is the perfect way to be able to meet other amazing people and learn from them, enrich our travel experiences and develop amazing friendships.

Intereses

Shared interests - science, thrifting, fitness, traveling, reading, backpacking, cooking, helping people, nutrition, climbing, mountaineering, trail running, bike touring, discovering new music and going to shows, connecting with nature and appreciating life. New favorite is sunrise summits!

Living in Nepal and being amazed by the Himalayas on a daily basis, bike touring around Oregon and hiking the Grand Canyon, summiting peaks throughout the Pacific Northwest, Wonderland Trail, O Circuit of Torres Del Paine, hanging out at the base of Fitz Roy and hiking around Chalten. Every weekend we spend biking around the San Juan's has also been magical. But also often the simple everyday life things are just as amazing and beautiful.

We could teach you about Physical Therapy source of pain, improved posture and about world and local travel experiences, about nature and geology, birding, best trail runs and hikes in the extended Portland area and our favorite places to eat and listen to music. We would love to learn about the best local experiences that are off the beaten path, the best place to watch the sunset and about other travelers you have met or travels you have done. We would also love to share our home with you.
