Caecilie is Danish and James is British and they met in Bangkok in 2005. It took Caecilie five years to make up her mind and she moved to London in 2010, telling her parents that she would be gone for about 6 months. James must have done something right as she hasn't got bored yet and is still living in London with him 5 years later.

Caecilie grew up on a farm and is now a qualified midwife who has helped deliver over 50 babies. James grew up in Hong Kong and Edinburgh so is very much a city boy. They both love animals (James even had a cat that made it to 22 years old!) They've also recently joined a gym and are even considering going...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We both love travelling and we're always thinking about where to go and what to see next. James perhaps has a few too many ideas and plans but fortunately Caecilie helps to keep him in check.

We also want to keep exploring and figure that the best way to see a new place is with the help of somebdy who already lives there.

Interests

Have we mentioned we like travelling? We both like reading, James is more a fan of films and TV shows but Caecilie will occasionallly give in and watch something with him. Caecilie is more a fan of the cultural stuff and occasionally James realises that he could probably do with experiencing more of this cultural stuff too.

We also have a cat who hates us but hides it by being really nice to everyone else. Caecilie has an allotment which is a bit overgrown at the moment but she has promised that she will start work on it when it gets a bit warmer outside.

We both like cooking. Caecilie is a fantastic cook while James is more likely to try making something he's never made before. Sometimes he succeeds.

Music, Movies, and Books

Caecilie is a huge fan of The Smiths, Pulp, David Bowie, Suede and Prince among others but is quite open to most things except dance music.

James likes Dance music.

He does also likes quite a few other styles of music too and we're both quite hard to pin down for a specific genre. Caecilie loves Vinyl records and is slowly building up a pretty decent collection. Unfortunately this is diminished by the fact that she has terrible taste in music. (You might be able to tell that James is writing this profile) They both like reading and have far too many books between them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Caecilie has seen a tiger in the wild which she said was breathtaking. She's also helped bring over 50 babies into the world.

James once trekked through the Sahara Desert on a camel named Jimi Hendrix.
