About Me
ABOUT ME
I’m a cheerful and open-minded person, always ready for new adventures. My name is Marlène, and along with my husband David, we moved to Squamish, BC in 2021. Life on the West Coast is simply amazing! 😊
Before we got here, we lived in the Alps, where we had many enriching experiences. David was a telecom engineer, while I worked as an industrial purchaser. When he decided to pursue a career as a professional poker player, I found time to volunteer with various non-profit organizations.
We enjoy chatting and we would have so many stories to share, but w’d love to discuss them in person!
We are truly grateful for our new life in Canada and recently obtained our permanent residency in April 2024.
We’re like tidy little squirrels who love to share space! Our housemates will tell you we’re as clean and respectful as a pair of charming guests at a fancy tea party!
PHILOSOPHY
Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Such a great community: it helps to find places to stay but obvisouly not only, to me it actually represents a nice place to share (couch, experiences, hobbies, conversations/opinions, food...) without looking forward to something in return.
It gives me hope
Interests
I like spending time outdoors, moutain biking, skiing, hiking... climbing somtimes, but I'm not very good at it. On a rainy day, I will easily switch to cooking a French meal - which generally takes time, reading a book or playing board games for hours.
I volunteer as a ski and moutian bike instructor for Whistler Adaptive Sports Program

Music, Movies, and Books
It's a bit like choosing my favorite foods; I love exploring all kinds of flavors! 🎶 When it comes to music, I listen to everything from hip hop to rock, with a bit of jazz and world music thrown in. Every genre has its own magic! For movies, I'm drawn to compelling stories, whether they're dramatic, fantastical, or inspirational. And for books, I dive into everything from historical novels to psychological thrillers. I love discovering new perspectives and stories!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh là là, I have plenty 😄
Every trip and every experience is an opportunity for the incredible, but sometimes the little adventures of everyday life can be just as memorable.
