About Me

Right now I'm working as a policy advisor for the British government on energy. My current projects are pretty specialised, but I've got a broad interest in energy and sustainability that I'm always excited to share.

I can't host where I am right now as there's no spare beds, and the sofa is really not conducive to sleeping. I'm hoping this can change when I move house next year.

MY PHILOSOPHY: Say what you mean, mean what you say, do it if you have a chance, and never attack people personally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My family's from all over the world, and holidays when I was younger always meant staying in someone's house - whether that was in Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, or Brazil. I don't appreciate the formality of a hotel, but at the same time I'm too reserved a person to really get into hostels. This is where you come in.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love going to watch live music, and I recently moved to a place in London that's got a lot of soul and funk going down.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Russia without speaking or reading a word of the language. It was almost terrifying when the plane was descending and I could just see this huge foreign land that I had no familiarity with. It came out as a formative experience, with lifelong friends and experiences to remember, but I'm still terrible at the language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm friendly, not loud, and I'm more than happy to bring a few spoils that a city like London can offer. In the past this has meant edibles like Scottish shortbread or Bermondsey bramble, or some fine spirits.

I don't see couchsurfing as a cheap alternative to a hotel, I genuinely want to connect with locals, make friends, explore the culture(!) and share some stories in a more relaxed environment.

I don't smoke, and I have no allergies with pets or food.
