About Me

Hello I'm Julie!

I grew up near Paris and lived in the West of France (Nantes) for a couple of years. This is where I studied Literature and English before moving abroad to England. I had the best time there but I had to come back to France to do my Master's.

My dream was to go and live in the United Kingdom after finishing my studies, hence why I settled in Edinburgh, Scotland after my Master's Degree. I have moved down to London but brought back with me some incredible Scottish memories.

I have traveled many times across the UK and I cannot stress how much I love its countryside. My favourite place is Scotland (so far!). I love the outdoors and hiking in the wild nature. I did camp on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and that was such an amazing experience! Hopefully one day I'll be able to see Nessie?

I also love being home, cooking, watching stupid TV shows and series but also going out, visiting museums, discovering new places, taking pictures and seeing my friends.

I consider myself as a nice, smily, organized, cheerful, funny, sociable, tidy person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the Earth is everyone's, so why not share a place?

I feel like it's more and difficult to meet new people and the hosts I have had the chance to meet have made me grow so much. It's so rewarding learning new things, I think I'm addicted to meeting new people in different cities!

I've been doing Couchsurfing for five years now and it's been so amazing each time, meeting new people, talking until late and sharing memories, food, a place!

Interests

I love having 'myself' moments reading or playing the piano but I also love being out traveling, exploring new cities, and visiting art galleries and museums.

Last year while doing Couchsurfing in Edinburgh, I have discovered the practice of yoga and I have loved it so much that I have done it pretty much every day since! I also love a little jog in Greenwich park near where I live in London.

Music, Movies, and Books

Atonement, Ian McEwan is my favourite book, love the adaptation from Joe Wright as well. I love a good David Lodge, Jonathan Coe and also Victorian novels.
I watch Pride & Prejudice and Four Weddings a Funeral at least once a year!
I'm very keen on watching series as well, all types from Game of Thrones to Peaky Blinders, How I met your mother, Happy Valley, Sherlock, This is Us, Breaking Bad or Luther.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fulfilling my dream and moving abroad to settle and be happy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to hear new stories about traveling, discovering the world, getting to know people, late at night all around a fire pit or candles.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to create great memories sharing food and a place! All my experiences as a Couchsurfer have been so amazing. I've loved meeting new people, talking for hours and discovering the cities with them. It's definitely my favourite way of travelling.
