I'm the kind of guy you think you've got figured out until you actually get to know me. I tickle a part of you that you can't quite reach yourself. I love to laugh. Smart and witty to the front of the line. Just started playing guitar and working on becoming an acoustic singer. (Already have the pipes, just need to nail down the axe.) I sprint the last mile on the treadmill. I double fist at last call. I like to finish strong.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My place is actually in Astoria, Queens, but don't let that scare you. Astoria is a fun and safe neighborhood just across the East River, and you can get to midtown Manhattan in 30 minutes or less.

Happy to host surfers when I can. Prefer short stays and people who can entertain themselves, because I have an office job and tend to work long hours. I am happy to point you in the right direction of things to explore around the city and hang out whenever possible. Lots of bars and restaurants right in the neighborhood.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had an account full of positive testimonials, deleted it because life just got too busy, and now I am bringing my couchsurfing profile back to life. I love to meet interesting people from around the country and around the world who are willing to share with me their stories and from whom I can learn something new.

I'm not really a thumpa thumpa club person, but bars are definitely cool. Beer and wine kind of guy. I enjoy cooking and am pretty darn good at it. I like cultural outings around the city -- Broadway, opera, symphony, museums, concerts, etc. I like to be outdoors when it's nice out. I like exploring new things.

Worked in the cruise industry for several years, so I am used to being around people from other countries and cultures. I've had the fortunate opportunity to explore the Eastern and Western Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe and the Mediterranean, and the Baltic. I also studied abroad in London and backpacked from Rome to Barcelona. I love to travel, and I'm sad that I haven't had much opportunity these past few years. Looking forward to living vicariously through you!
