I am a marine biologist, but also studying an extra masters in environmental sanitation, love traveling (preferably low budget^^), speak English and Dutch fluently, some French, and a few words in Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Up to now I only surfed but once I graduate and have my own place, intend to host as well. However, untill then I am willing to show people around in Ghent if my schedule allows me to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Did it twice already with some friends (before I had my own profile)and both times I have been pleasantly surprised. It was so much better than what I expected it would be and I really enjoyed the experiences

music: a bit of everything,
I love reading, mostly fantasy books.
movies: depends on the mood, a bit of everything but preferably no horrormovies. unless there is a soft blanket and ice cream for comforting :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

May not sound so amazing but the feeling was wonderfull and the view... omg, would love to do it again: Horsebackriding in Australia (I believe it was somewhere around Cairns or Darwin) couple of hours riding, going through part of a tropical rainforest and suddenly, in a few seconds time, you go from dense rainforest, not even hearing the ocean, to standing in the middle of a lovely beach. To me this was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn:
I love to learn different languages, couchsurfing will never be enough to really learn a language but perhaps the first few important words.. Highest on my list of languages I want to learn are Spanish and Italian but I should really practice French again and perhaps learn a non-European language...
Cooking.. perhaps your country has some typical dish?
Dancing! I really want to learn it but up to now I only had some classes of Cuban Salsa and that's it.

I guess I can teach my language (dutch) a bit, show you arround in Ghent/Belgium, tell you about my country, tell you a few things about biology, the very very basics of cuban salsa and bachata,...
