One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've always been a person who travels a lot, because of my family, we've known many places in the world, in South America, North America and Europe. But I'm gonna emphasize in my memories when I've traveled alone.
I traveled to Argentina when I was 15, with a football team, and we played a tournament in General Roca, a town that's like 15-16 hours from Buenos Aires. That was the first time I was alone in a trip, but I handled it well and I had a really good time.
I lived in Boston after I finished my school, where I studied english for one year. I have the best memories from that time, where I met many people, some became friends, some others didn't, but I learned a lot about different cultures, and how some are similar to mine, and some others are not at all. Boston is very special to me, because besides the people I met there, it's a beautiful city, full of knowledge to discover and full of young energy. I traveled there twice again, after that, when I was in the university, to work, and other time with my ex.
When I was in Boston the first time I traveled to Sweden and Denmark to play football, again, for two months. I learned a lot of team work and how to work hard for things you want. I was not in the starting line-up, so I had to make my way to achieve a place in the team, and I did. In this period I learned a lot about friendship, and how to step up for your teammates in difficult moments.
I also have really good memories from Rio de Janeiro, where I was in a congress with my university for more than one week. This city is amazing, it's like they live partying all the time, and of course they don't literally, but people have such a good vibe that whatever it is you're doing, you feel that you're having a lot of fun. It's incredible.
Cities that I'll always remember are, of course Boston, Rio, but I also really like New York and Paris. Paris has this magic that you just can't explain, there's really something very special about that city, like you could get lost there with no worries at all. That sounds really cheesy, but, that's how I feel about it. I have no better words to describe it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I can give a good image of my country, as I believe that the Colombian stereotype should change for good. By giving a good image of myself, I will give another perception of my country and our people, and that's what I could teach to other cultures, that Colombia is a very interesting country, putting aside the obvious stereotypes. Also you can talk to me about almost anything.
