Hi!

I'm Cleo, I'm a 23yo Girl currently living in The Hague, the Netherlands. I was born in Berlin, grew up in Maastricht(south of NL) and moved to the Hague to study photography. I graduated last summer and I'm currently working on my own projects and enjoying being out of school!

I find it hard to describe myself. People who know me could say I'm outgoing and perhaps a bit impulsive. While I'm also very much a thinker and I like to observe in quiet. So let's say I'm somewhere in between. I get energy from meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 1980 my father, then aged 17, hitchhiked through Scandinavia. A couple of months ago I found his old note-book of that time. It fascinated me so much that I decided this would be the next subject of a photo-project.

This summer me and my younger brother want to follow his route. I want to investigated what it feels like to be so depended on people's trust. Couch surfing for me is a way to make this both possible and to meet people on the way. To indulge myself in conversations and to learn about a city through the people who actually live there! Talking to you is probably the best travel guide there is!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think graduating from my studies was a huge accomplishment and a very rewarding one! I also self-published a photobook, now I'm thinking about it that's pretty cool.
