About Me
ABOUT ME
Update: obtained my bachelor´s with a major in sociology. Right now on a gap year, living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I´m learning Portuguese here and am planning to do my master´s here as well.
I'm studying at Amsterdam University College, an international and interdisciplinary joint program of Amsterdam's two universities. This program reflects two of my traits: my interest in people from other countries and my broad academic interests, which range from biology to literature.
Last summer I made my first major journey on my own: I went to Ghana to do volunteer work at a small orphanage and school. I learned a lot from the cultural differences between me and the locals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host people at moments at which I have space and time, such as during vacations. The main reason I do this is because I find it very interesting to meet people from other countries and cultures and I like to provide them with hospitality and to show them the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only hosted people so far; haven't surfed myself yet but would like to start doing that this summer. Only had great experiences with the people I hosted so far!
Interests
Aside from the previously mentioned, my interests are music (I have been playing the saxophone for about eight years now and just starting to learn to play the bass guitar), acting, writing and a bunch of other things.
I also like to engage in discussions on any topic I'm interested in (and there are a lot of those), so if you're like that as well, prepare for a lot of intellectual stimulation.
Furthermore I'm a big language fanatic (Duolingo is my favorite smartphone 'game') and would like to learn some of your language, and teach you my own!
