About us

We are Mark (30, Spain) and Michelle (29, New Zealand). We met in New Zealand almost two years ago, and we've been moving around Asia ever since, working remotely as online English teachers. We want to o travel Asia and Middle East for as long as we can, and we want to meet locals to share stories and do stuff together!

Mark: Hi guys! you can call me Mark or Tony (I'll explain when we meet). I'm from Madrid, although my mum is British so I'm both Spanish and British. I used to work in banking when I was in Europe, in a few different countries, but eventually I got tired of it, quit and started travelling. I also started teaching English, and now I teach online. I like music and DJing (electronic mostly, but other stuff too), and I like outdoor stuff like hiking and surfing.

Michelle: Hello :) I'm Michelle from New Zealand and I look forward to meeting you - wherever you are! I left NZ in my 20s to teach English in Korea and China, ended up loving it, came back to NZ to train as a teacher and now want to combine my teaching with my travelling. A huge part of why I travel is to EAT food in new places and also to be surrounded by new languages.

Philosophy

We believe it is a sovereign right of every adult to freely make decisions about things that affect their own bodies, as long as there is no harm to those around them, in topics such as sexuality (for the record, Michelle and I are a couple), drug use, eating habits, marriage, religion, etc. We think it is downright wrong to impose ones personal views upon others, or judge them for their own choices, so we do our best to practice tolerance and acceptance even in the absence of agreement or understanding, and we appreciate those who do so as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mark: started when I was living in Finland. There, I hosted a great number of people and made a lot of friends. After that I used it a few times to travel around Europe and now around Asia
