About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Taking pictures, meeting good people, traveling as much as possible and having a good time :)

ABOUT ME

I can't really say much about myself, since I'm still trying to figure myself out. One might say I'm lazy, another one that I'm a hard worker; I can be very shy or even seem unfriendly, but it's just the surface you have to get through. :) Actually I love meeting new people and getting inspirations from them - now it is time to live, so that I'd have experiences to create something worthwhile from later. I like trying out new things, even if it frightens me, I like getting over my fears and insecurities. I don't know, if I'm interesting to talk to, but I definitely like listening to other people's stories, waiting for mine to happen :)

PHILOSOPHY

There were too many philosophers, who tried to create one, so I won't (:
I guess I'm just trying to surprise myself, 'cause the worst thing that can happen is becoming a book you yourself don't want to read - that who else will?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can show you around the town, or the other way around - as I've experienced lately, it can be great to see everyday things through newcomer's eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed once with my friend to Saarema in Estonia, it was one of the greatest experiences in my life and I want to do it over and over again. Our hostess Kristiina was amazing, we got to meet her friends, listen to our hymn playing at 1 a.m. and even stargaze together.
Lately I've been trying to meet new people from all over the world without leaving Lithuania, so feel free to contact me :)

Interests

TV series, photography, traveling, mountains, music, books, culture, art, philosophy, food, GoT, geocaching, bouldering - everything interests me, unless I bore myself

Music, Movies, and Books

It would take too long to list them all, but ok, I'll try to mention a few. I'm crazy about Jack Kerouac, his road stories and unbelievably complicated sentences, so yeah, "The road" would make it to my top list. I'm fascinated with E. M. Remarque, it would be hard to decide between "The black obelisk" and "Three comrades", his sense of humor and sense of the fragility of human soul is amazing. I love the way how J. R. R. Martin creates complex characters and twists the plot in "The song of ice and fire" saga, I also loved "The lord of the rings", read everything I could of Haruki Murakami, I can't believe I almost forgot Ray Bradbury and his amazing anti-utopias! But I'm getting started here, so next :)
Music I listen to depends on my mood - sometimes I can spend hours listening to Pink Floyd, Guns'n'roses or Joe Cocker, sometimes a good day is a day with Bob Marley's songs, other days I just turn on the radio and see where it takes me, sometimes I enjoy French classic, such as Edith Piaf or Mireille Mathieu, though ZAZ and Raphael are also great, other days I sit-dance to Parov Stelar or Grammatik, and yes, I also enjoy Mumford and sons, Clean Bandit etc. Just please, please, no Skrillex :)
Lately I've been kinda lazy, if we talk about watching the movies, but you might say I'm a Tarantino's fan, I adore road movies, such as The way, Into the wild, Knocking on heaven's door, I enjoyed The Terminal, Barefoot (the German one), Before the sunset, LOTR and many many other movies. Feel free to always suggest me a new one :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I got 18, I went skydiving - everything seemed at the same time so near and so far from the heights... I'm afraid of the heights, but it wasn't scary at all - one might say, it was, well, refreshing - falling in the wind at a full speed. But in the end, I prefer something steadier, like standing on the top of the mountain, you know :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you with photography or maybe recommend a good book or movie, or even a philosopher ;)
