Hi! I'm Heleen, I'm 21 and from the Netherlands, although I grew up all over the place. Right now I study at UCM in Maastricht, where I concentrate on sustainable development. My favourite way to travel is with a tent and a backpack. I am very eager to learn and I love being outdoors. Just looking for a healthy dose of adventure and some new people :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never tried couch-surfing before but I have heard many good things about it from my friends. In Australia I did a week of helpx (similar to WWOOF-ing) which I really enjoyed and I think this is kind of similar. Anyway, it sounds like a great way to meet the locals and see more of the world on a small budget.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Together with my family we roadtripped our way through Central Asia for 6 weeks, driving from our home in the Netherlands as far as Kyrgyzstan and back in our trusty land cruiser. We got to experience many amazing and elusive countries like Turkmenistan and meet many very interesting people on the way.
