ABOUT ME

At the moment I have room for 1 person. For 1-3 nights.

UPDATE:
For a feature length documentary I am making about the bicycle culture in Amsterdam, I am looking for tourists who have never used a bicycle before, and are willing to learn how to ride a bike while being filmed (by me). Besides that, I would like to do a small interview with you about being in Amsterdam. The shooting will take 3-4 hours at most. I offer my couch in return for max 3 days. :-) if you are willing to do this, please send me a message or couch surfing request.

Since april 2014 I am the happy owner of a corner appartment in Amsterdam (North). From my window you can see a little part of the Amsterdam Central Station. You can be in the main city in a couple of minutes. There is a canal called het IJ between my home and the centre of the city. You can pass the canal over water by using a free ferry (takes you 3 minutes), which goes 24hours a day. It's a fun trip each time and adds to the Amsterdam experience ;-)

Why do I offer a place to stay? Well, I live at my own since a month after having lived together with a good friend for a few years. I decided to buy a house. I love the privacy and freedom for creativity. But I also like friends or other people coming over. There's enough space for that. I am very happy with my new home, and want to share this place with others. Also I like to meet new people and let them have a great time. So I offer a couch from time to time for a good balance between privacy, having others around being happy, and of course for the reason stated in my mission line. :-)

I got a new couch with my new home, so it is still fresh and shiny. But you don't have to use the couch if you don't want to, there is also a mattress available for more convenience.

My appartment: a big and light living room with open kitchen, main hall, seperate toilet, bathroom with shower and 2p bedroom. There is also a balcony on the south. You can sleep in the living room, or in the main hall, or bathroom! Toilet for stand up sleeping. Your call. Let's say there is plenty of space for two max. three persons to stay.

There is a big food store 2 minutes (walk) from my home. Open from early morning until 9pm. Easy for daily needs.

So now I told you about my home. Just a little bit about me to finish the story. I love film , music and Amsterdam. I work on project basis for Dutch broadcast television (make TV programs as producer / editor) and at my own Amsterdam home based video company, here I produce video content for company's or non-commercial 'creative' documentaries. I work here as a camera guy, director and editor.
I also love going to the movies, there are lots of cinema's in Amsterdam. My living room is filled with a big DVD collection which you can use. But I would advise you to go visit a movie at the cinema in Amsterdam. I can guide you around.

Music: I am a drummer and play piano. music taste is diverse, but mostly rock oriented.

What defines 'me' is that I always want to tell stories, with music or with film. I want to create and record stuff and as a film maker observe live and search for interesting stories to tell. I am open minded, in for a good laugh and I want to make the most out of something.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a pretty easy host. Everything is optional, it's your vacation so you can decide how your time spend in Amsterdam looks like. After you arrive, we meet at my address (or central station), and I first show you around in my appartment: where you can sleep / make you feel at home. You get the keys. You can eat here on daily basis if you want to, etc.

I am pretty easy. There are just some common sense simple rules like no burning down the house or inviting random people over without me knowing. If you have special wishes, just let me know
