Overview
About Me
My name is Rafael, I'm from Brazil, but I have been living in Thailand for 3 years by now. At the moment I'm completing my masters (International Relations), but in these years here I have been also a research assistant at the United Nations (in a section for technology and innovation policy) and before that a teacher.
Also, I have lived in France, Argentina, South Korea and India, so I got to know a little bit of many parts of the world, and couchsurfers have really helped me during all my trips, so I'm happy to be able to participate in this community.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of couchsurfing as the best solution to traveling alone without ever being lonely.
Interests
I study international relations, so I enjoy discussing about international politics. My thesis is about the relationship between nationalism and technological development, particularly in China.
I also have some affection for the memes and internet pop culture, I have nintendo 3DS, I like to pretend I do exercises and read too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy Tarantino movies and Ghibli studios animations. Some of my favorite books are 100 Years of Solitude and the Little Prince. I am also a bit of a Noam Chomsky fan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Mt Fiji, paraglided from the Andean maintains, visited the largest (accessible) cave in the world, went to the middle of nowhere in Northern India for a meditation retreat, and raised a baby squirrel.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have some knowledge about Southeast Asia, so I can talk a little bit about Thai history and all that cool stuff. I've also done some meditation retreats, so if Buddhist stuff interests you we can talk about it.
I am also up for some beers sometimes and hear your cool stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a nice futon in my living room, Netflix, washing machine, hot shower...
If I have time I can walk you around town sometimes, or at least point you to the cool parts of town.
And I'll teach you how to say "not spicy" in Thai.
