About Me

*would be interested in hosting but am currently traveling!

CURRENT MISSION

Leave the world a better place than how I found it :)

ABOUT ME

I like cheese, fruit, and veggies - among other tasty treats. I'm also pretty nerdy (like bird watching, botanizing, getting into good discussions on technical details), and bicycles are my favorite way to get around. Enjoy camping and climbing outdoors, and exploring the hidden and less-hidden gems in urban jungles.

PHILOSOPHY

do your best

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted once or twice personally, and am looking forward to future adventures. Have participated in group meet-ups around the towns I've lived in and met several wonderful people throughout the world on individual adventures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly been couchsurfing among friends and friends of family/hostfamilies.

Interests

Eating, learning, walking, botanizing, birdwatching, geographizing, unearthing neat historical artifacts

Music, Movies, and Books

So many!

The little prince consistently ranks at the top of my book list, and is often the first book I tend to find in a new language. Have a copy in English, German, French, and Portuguese already, and continuing to seek out others. Mostly read academic papers these days but am interested in lots of social psychology-type books and non-linear fiction.

I'm a fan of 60s and 70s era music, classical piano, Spanish guitar, rock 'n roll, bluegrass and a bit of country. Open to quite a bit here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

watching synchronized fireflies in the great smoky mountains national park, dodging leaches in a national park in thailand, witnessing the sunrise over borobudur temple outside jogyakarta, going out for a moonlight bike ride through the desert - all with friends new and old

Learning: learning Botany and birding, would love to learn more and share what I do know.
