One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 1976 I travelled four weeks by InterRail trough Great Britain, from Penzance up to Thurso. In the youth hostel in Inverness I unexpectedly got the address of John Lennon's maternal aunt Mimi (Smith). I took my chance, went down to Poole (in Dorset), and finally found myself sitting on her sofa, being invited for a cup of tea, talking with her about John and taking pictures in a room with some of his memorabilias, including all Beatles Gold Records from the early years. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Last year I rediscovered a handwritten notice from Mimi, with John's address in New York – the place where he was shot, just four years later ...
