Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend, Gyöngyi persuaded me to try couchsurfing when we were planning to go to Tuscany on holiday in 2014. At first I was a bit sceptic about the whole thing - being a bit shy and down-to-earth, I couldn't imagine myself doing such crazy and adventurous things. :) But then there we were, two girls together in Tuscany, doing all kinds of crazy stuff, meeting very nice and interesting people, exploring the places we have visited with the help of local people. It was the most authentic experience, we got to know Tuscany much better than if we have just followed the guidebooks as ordinary tourists do.

Interests

I like cooking and baking, I mainly prepare the traditional Hungarian dishes, but I also like inventing new recipes when I cook from what I find in the fridge. My motto is - everything is better with a bit of bacon in it. :)
When I'm travelling, I like to spend my time in an active way, exploring new places until the point that I cannot walk a step further...or hardly move at all. In a city, I admire mostly the architecture, its history and arts, but I also like hiking in the nature and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I like taking photos, and although I'm just an amateur, I always try to get the maximum out of my small compact camera.
My husband and I are quite outgoing people, we like orginizing social events with friends, hosting board game parties or going out for a beer after work with the colleagues and having fun. We also share the same kind of humour, inventing puns all the time (being a linguist has its adventages :) ).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm listening to rock and metal music, but this doesn't show on the outside, so I usually surprise people with this information. I also like instrumental and folk music, and the kind of large orchestra music that is composed for movie soundtracks.
I like reading, I'm almost always get lost in books for hours if I have the chance. My favourites are fantasy books, but recently I'm also reading dystopian fiction and the like.
