About Me

A bioinformatics student from Warsaw, an adventure-lover. I used to sail quite a lot, even managed to cross the Atlantic on a tallship, but now I pretty much switched to traveling by land. I am outgoing, talkative and love meeting strangers, that's why I prefer hitchhiking to other means of transport. I'm fluent in English and of course Polish, but I am also an enthusiastic learner of French and try to use every occasion to practise it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a very friendly person who loves traveling and making new friends. I am always interested in locals' insight into a city.

Interests

In my spare time, when I'm not traveling I like to practise programming, read books and visit museums. I am also a pretty good cook, a decent ice-skater and a begginer rollerblader.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could go on and on with every category here, so these are of course just a few.
Huuge fan of Tarantino, Woody Allen and Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I believe you are never too old for animated films (not only Disney).
My favourite authors are Julio Cortazar, Mario Vargas Llosa, Witold Gombrowicz and Oscar Wilde.
When it comes to music, I try to be open-minded and listen to many different music styles, but I have a special place in my heart for 60s and 70s music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on what was supposed to be a relatively short hitchhiking trip from Poland to Budapest, but halfway there one of the drivers proposed that we could go to his place by the Black Sea, in Bulgaria. That was a very surprising offer, but after a short consideration we agreed and that was probably the best impulsive decision I've ever made. Our host was a fantastic person, he showed us around his town, Balchik, which is absolutely picturesque, we made new friends there and learnt to trust in our luck and in stangers' kindness.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook you a dinner! I am not a big specialist on Polish cuisine, although I could probably think of something... But I make really good curry and other asian-ish dishes. And I will love to tell you everything there is to know about Poland, my home country. Also if you don't know what bioinformatics is, it will be the perfect opportunity to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Martinique, Norway, Romania, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Slovakia, Sweden, United Kingdom
