ABOUT ME

I'm a 27 year old student that studies political science and international development studies in Amsterdam. Since I consider it quite hard to describe myself in an original type of way I let me friends introduce me:

Khadya: "Spontaneous, warm, loud ;) and always up to talk about issues that are way too philosophical for me".

Helena: "He's definitely really social, spontaneous, has great ideas and a creative spirit!. He's really cool to hang out with!"

I have been to India 2 years ago and it has mesmerized me. I fell in love with the people, the contrast, the cities and the scenery. I fell in love with the country so much that I have redirected my studies, adding a new program to my curriculum. Now I focus mainly on the topic of Gender in South-Asia and I would be delighted to have long conversations about that topic over a beer (or four haha).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couchsurfed on my previous trip to India and I loved it. My host, David, was a very nice guy and he opened up the city of Mumbai to me. Furthermore I find this to be a medium that brings people together! I would love to have dinner, go to parties, drink a beer or anything one would suggest suitable with my host.

Interests

I'm an outgoing guy that loves music and adventurous stuff. Aside from my studies I work as a bartender at a nightclub in the city of Amsterdam. I'm very much into music, whatever the genre. Aside from this stuff I am also very much into getting to know everything about the cultures that make our beautiful world as it is. During my studies I've studied a lot of them and I would like to put a face to every culture I've read about (without generalizing anyone of them of course ;) ). So far I've been traveling quite a lot and I've loved everything about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very fond of R 'n B and Hip-Hop music, electronic music, latin music, recent bollywood music. However; with every mood there is a genre and I very, very open to new stuff. Enlighten me!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've spent two months in a poor neighborhood in the Dominican Republic, very exciting! I've scuba-dived in the Caribbean, definitely one of the most tranquilizing experiences yet. I've danced the Tango in Buenos Aires (dear God Argentinean women are beautiful). I've slept on the streets of Belgrade (quite sketchy haha). I've hitchhiked from Amsterdam to Seville (and met lovely people doing so). And quite a lot more, let's talk about these things when we see eachother!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not really sure what I should fill in here. I suppose I have travelled the world, so I have a lot of great stories. But I am also very curious about stories you have to tell! I would be delighted to assist in learning English or Spanish, since I master those languages rather fluently. Maybe there are places in India that you would still like to visit, if so I would gladly accompany!

What I Can Share with Hosts

What do people usually share? I mean, what I bring with me is yours to use! I will bring a music speaker, a variety of nice music, some books, the basics. I mean.. what i have is yours?
