About Me
CURRENT MISSION- Updated 31.3.2020 -hi there guys- Here in UK we are currently in lockdown from the Coronavirus covid 19 pandemic and so NOT HOSTING. BE SAFE, STAY AT HOME. We will update when safe to host, be hosted again.
Well about us ? We Love to travel, meet like minded others and exchange stories, experiences and tips! We are currently in india. We have been hosted in Trivandrum, Madurai, Coimbatore, Ooty, Mumbai, Baroda, Ahmedabad & it was great- hoping others around the world can be so hospitable. MORE ABOUT US Considerate fun-loving travellers who are enjoying travelling & being together & sharing our tips & knowledge with other like-minded people. We want to meet locals & learn more about where wr are. We aren't a "coupley" couple though & enjoy the hang out & to be with others- hence why we love couch surfing. We love couch-surfing both hosting (when at home) and being hosted and love the people we have surfed at so far and can't wait to experience more surfing and meet more people. We have travelled through Scandinavia, Denmark, Germany, Austria & Slovenia & found all people of these lands very welcoming & willing to host us .😊we have found south india to be hospitable to us🤗 too. PHILOSOPHY Live and let live. We love life and to be respectful of others. We love fun and exchange of experience with others. We aren't big party animals, although this doesn't mean we don't when its available :o). We are just as happy sitting up talking and exchanging stories with new found friends into wee small hours. We also love good food and live music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Host and surf whenever we get the chance! Sorry we have been away, but when we are home we defo love hosting. :o) We like hosting other couples... we welcome singles too.
One thing to note of importance to us and we believe to you- both for hosting & surfing we seek flexibilty and respect. When we stay - we are aware we are in your home and want you to be as comfy with us there as you can be. Equally when you come to us we want the same for you- to feel comfy, but also respect our needs.😊when you apply we can chat this through.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE We hosted in our home long before we discovered this forum and since we discovered managed to host a hand full of times before we went off on our own trip :o) We have had some great couch surfing experiences all over the world. The best yet in Austria in Graz & Orebro, Sweden- those guys just can’t help but be lovely it seems! It has been tricky as a couple to find couch-surf hosts with space, but when we do, no matter how small the space we embrace the opportunity to meet new people & share new experiences. We love to cook, play boardgames, hangout, go out and generally enjoy meeting new people in this fantastic community.
Interests
Food, music ,culture & history. When travelling its very important to us to experience the local food & culture, nature & meeting getting to know local people. Milly likes to try learning some of the language even if only in country for a few days. Its nice to learn the basics like hello, please & thank you & you are welcome & more if you can! She can speak Spanish, but is by no means fluent!- we call it SPANGLISH- A combo of Spanish & English. She hope she can improve on the next trip. Since travelling through Brazil for 3 months, we managed to pick up enough Portuguese & had fun practicing it on the locals :o) When at home we enjoy going to gigs, sustainable living, recycling, up cycling & growing veg in our own allotment which forces us to regularly invent new recipes way to use the latest seasonal glut! We can cook vegan, but aren't strict vegetarians- we eat meat and happily embrace all foods that are delicious. We hate waste and the disposable society! Al has made a gravity chicken feeder for our two hens from an old tyre, waste pipe and other bits and bobs! Milly can't throw anything away- from jam jars to old clothes that of near falling apart- she will reinvent or re-home it! We also love to seasonal mushroom forage- not psychedelic- edibles! We are regular festival circuit volunteers for a vegan Cafe- enjoying small eco festivals with interesting talks and workshops to the giants like Glastonbury where we get to see big live music acts. We can talk more about this -how and what we have seen and what its like to be part of this community when we meet you! We are planning to do a workshop on sustainable chicken keeping next festival season and are very excited about it! We volunteered at the launch year and subsequent years at the newest addition to the festival circuit Tandem festival in Oxford which is very international for musicians from all over attending. Again we can tell you more when we meet!

Music, Movies, and Books
Milly loves music: Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman and quite folky stuff as well as too much electronica and chill out to mention. Martha Tilston's voice gives us both goose bumps!
Al loves most types of music and his particular favourites are NIN, Orbital, Steven Wilson, Devin Townsend - he will tell you more if asked when we meet you! We both like Ananthema, Zaz, Xavier Rudd. Milly likes to read comedy, bio's of the first adventurers (the Thief at the End of the World), Shantaram & travel stories. Al likes Fantasy stuff. We both love small music festivals where we discover new music live, new eco/environmental and sustainable living skills. We have recently watched two particularly great movies- " Tracks" an Ozzie movie about a very independent girl walking across the Australian desert with camels and her dog. An indian movie called "the lunchbox" - very touching story about loneliness and love with a food connection. Also love documentaries focused on environmental issues, change, indigenous peoples rights, localisation & are lucky enough to have documentarian friends. We can recommend some material to you if interested :o)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Al says the most amazing thing his done is to learn to cycle at age 43. Milly agrees & is too proud of him! We recently visited Guyana and Al hand fed Mantee's grass and fell in love with these docile creatures. Having said that - the animals that our hosts have are also a major highlight of our experience- they make us just as welcome often as the human host. :o) Milly feels the same and thinks that of all the trip- the most amazing thing was visiting the Galapagos Islands (which she never thought they would be able to afford!) Also more recently says taking the boat from Santerem to Belem in Brazil and sleeping in Hammocks all the way along the Amazon was pretty up there! We are not really your typical adrenaline junkie types :o)
