Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi! I’m Thomas, currently based in Amsterdam. I’m on Couchsurfing because I love the idea of connecting with people in a more personal and authentic way than a hotel ever could. For me, travel is about people as much as places — sharing stories, meals, and little moments of everyday life.

Interests

• Music – I’m learning acoustic guitar and fingerstyle playing, and I’m always up for a jam session or discovering local music.
• Tech & data – I work as a data engineer, and I love diving into creative problem solving (don’t worry, I won’t bore you with too much code-talk unless you’re into it ).
• Travel & culture – I’m curious about how people live, their daily routines, and the small cultural quirks that make a place unique.
• Sports & movement – I play tennis, enjoy hiking, and like to stay active while traveling.
