I am a musician, teacher and film sound designer, currently living in Prague. I like to travel with a sense of purpose, whether it’s collaborating on music, working on creative projects, or taking part in residencies and festivals. It makes the experience more meaningful and a lot more fun, and allows me to connect more deeply with the people and the place :)
Having lived in different parts of the world, I’ve noticed how much we all have in common, and how cultural differences don’t feel as significant as they might seem at first!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don’t use couchsurfing very often, which is why I don’t have many reviews, but from time to time I find myself in new places where I don’t know anyone and would really love to experience these places through local people.

Interests

Besides music and film, I love to crotchet, cycle and hike. If money wasn't a constant struggle, would be hiking most of the time!

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up playing classical music (cello and piano), which I love dearly. Also electronic music, jazz, ambient, experimental, Brazilian- all my main playlists have samba and bossa :)

I love french cinema- Agnes Varda, Carex, Chris Marker, Tati, Truffaut and many more. Also my new favourites Tsai Ming-liang (can't believe I only discovered him recently) and Mati Diop.
Also documentaries- would highly recommend Gunda by Victor Kossakovsky, Dahomey by Mati Diop and any film by Joshua Oppenheimer. Recently saw this beautiful documentary To Be and to Have by Nicolas Philibert.

Books: any book by James Baldwin, Colette, Virginia Woolf, Selma Lagerlöf, Konstantin Paustovsky, Bulgakov, Kafka, Knut Hamsun, Olga Tokarczuk.
