About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Cédric and I live in Belgium. I do freelance work in the game industry, more particularly as lead writer and scenario designer. At the moment I work for a small international startup who does historical titles. Apart from work I try to have as many hobbies as I possible, such as playing music, doing sport, reading books and getting to know more about the history and cultures of people.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like life should be lived. It's no use to work at a job you're not passionate about. "Just do what you like to do and when you get good at it, you'll find a way to make a living from it". This is sort of what happened to me. Games and history have been an interest of mine since I was small and now that I'm grown up I am being paid to develop historical games so that turned out pretty well. I also like to help out fellow travelers whenever I can. As I see how much others have done for me on my travels it only feels right to do the same for others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was when a friend of mine suggested that I'd use it back when I was hitchhiking in the US in 2010. At the time I made an account for the trip but never really used it since I met lots of friendly people just on the road. After I got back home I forgot about the account and never used it again. Several years later that same friend had a guy from couchsurfing over at his place and he turned out to be a really cool guy and we had some great conversations. So when we went on another trip to Spain we decided to use couchsurfing. We had 3 different hosts, each very different but all really nice people and I just discovered how nice an experience couchsurfing can be and how it's a great way to get to know people and share your interests with them.

Interests

Music (going to concerts and festivals but also making music myself), sports (watching and playing), travelling, history, talking about politics and the news, and many more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Into the Wild is a movie that has had a great impact on me.
Music: All kinds of music but most of all Rock music.
Books: Mostly interested in books about history.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been playing the guitar since I was fifteen so I can teach anyone who is interested. Whether you are new to it or have been going it at for a while now, or if you just want to jam together, all fine by me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, music and in general good company.
