About Me

Hello there! My Name ist Stefanie, everyone`s calling me Steffi. I`m 25 years old and a trained educator. Currently I`m working in a bilingual kindergarten in Brunswick. I take care of the littlest ones. They are 0-3 years old. I`m busy being a kindergarten teacher. I sing, smile, play, love, learn, laugh, teach and do so much more. I really like my job. It`s important to always stay in contact with the parents, colleagues and kids of course. You have to be friendly, open minded, creative, talkative, organized, spontaneous, considerate and I bet I could find even more nice adjectives. Well the point is, I think I just fit in [got the hang of this social stuff ;) ].
In private I like some of the same activities as at work, like playing the guitar and singing, and doing handicraft work (just different contents) but I love to spend time with my family and friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Almost 2 Years ago (time flies by so fast) I´ve been an Au Pair in New Zealand. It was my first big journey away from home. I got more independent, self-confident and I enjoyed travelling. A friend of mine has had a Couchsurfing account. We met so cool people and had the most fun. I never expected it to be this awesome. Of course we could save some money (what`s always good while backpacking), but therefore we cooked, or helped with the chore (naturally). That`s why I`m on Couchsurfing, to meet these cool, amazing people out there, who let a stranger spend the night in their house and give a little insight in their live. Maybe once I could become one of them.

Interests

-hang around with family and friends, visit restaurants, parks, go to the cinema and talk about important and unimportant things
-playing the guitar and singing
- listen to music and shout to it
- sketch (mostly Comic/Manga figures)

- swimming

  • singing

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite musical styles are rock, folk and indie. I love live music. At the moment I like to listen to Imagine Dragons, Cold war kids, Frank Hamilton & a lot more (depends on what I can find on spotify ^^)
I can watch every movie, if it´s good. But I prefer Fantasy (the Hobbit), Mystery (Sherlock Holmes), History (12 years a slave), Crime (Sherlock!!!), some Drama (Third Star)and Action (Avengers, Deadpool) I love all the Marvel movies and watch a lot of series, like Sherlock, Game of Thrones, The Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and so on.
I like to read fan fiction & manga ... I have to admit that I`m not a big book reader, but I want to change that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky Dive!!! I jumped out of a plane over the Lake Taupo!!! The most crazy and unbelievable thing I`ve ever done. ..
oh and spend a year in New Zealand of course :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think you can learn from everyone and every situation, if you want to. There are always new things to explore. It depends on the situation. When I was in NZ I got more confident in myself. I was organized, arranged, open-minded, adventurous and had a lot of responsibility. These are things I need for life and I think it`s the people your spending your time with, that life is intersting. I want to see more of the big wide world to learn about it. I would like to perfect my English skills and I`m always glad to see and learn something new. It`s so much fun to share activities and experiences.
I like to play the guitar and sing, just for fun. It makes family, friends and me happy. All children love it too.
I don`t have much experience with couchsurfing, but I think it`s a great idea and I`m really glad to be a part of this. I appreciate all the people who are traveling this way and especially those kind-hearted ones, who give strangers the possibility of a free location and an insight in their lives. I hope I can use this website to get to know other people and I`m really grateful for this.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could teach some German, funny card, or dice games and Poker. I could tell about my awesome travellings in New Zealand (if anyone likes to hear it)or my "normal" live with my tiny toddlers (lots of funny stories) and I would love to listen to others stories as well. I can help with some chores and prepare a propper meal (remember tastes are different) ;)
