About Me

Just a normal guy who not so long ago rediscovered his unfairly forgotten passion for traveling. I lived on the island of Cres, the most beautiful island in the world as I like to call it and after quitting the job as a project manager in a tourist company I went on a four-month hitchhiking trip around New Zealand, Cook islands and central Europe. The rest is history as I was severely bit by a travel bug. In one of my travels I fell in love with Iran and eventually decided to move and start a business of my own there. It seems like my passion for adventure wasn't reserved only for my travels but it became almost like a life motto. While so many are in search of better life somewhere in the west, I went the other way trying to create space for myself where I will feel good about what I do and fully enjoy the unpredictability of every new day. I am happy that my job gives me the opportunity to travel a lot but at the same time when I am home I love to open the doors of my home to kind travelers and listen to their uniqe stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To make summer few years ago more interesting I decided to open CS profile and welcome others to my home. I loved all the positivity that came with couchsurfers and that is what eventually triggered my desire to go traveling. Hosting people and listening to their stories is also a way of traveling.

Interests

Alternative traveling - hitchhiking, bicycle touring and walking are unconventional forms of traveling I am interested in. Traveling such unconventional way enables meeting people and experiencing situations that ''normal'' traveling doesn't. Such experiences money can't buy so I could describe my traveling motto as ''less is more''.

I like listening to other people's experiences, exploring other places and learning other cultures only to realize we are all so the same.

Other than that I like writing, nature, history, hiking, remote camping, geography...

Music, Movies, and Books

It's either good or bad but let's say hard rock, electronic and ambient music, drama, adventure and action movies and historical and travel books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wrote a script and produced a short film.
Hitchhiked a sailing boat from South island to North island in New Zealand.
Walked 400 kilometers across three Balkan countries or two days in a straight line across the dunes of the Kavir desert in Iran.
Hosted many inspiring people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll be happy to tell you about Iran through the eyes of a foreigner. It is an interesting perspective, trust me. I'll be happy to give you tips and suggestions on where to go and what to visit as I love helping making itineraries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am thankful for hospitality and friendliness. Those are things I value the most when traveling so I would never allow myself to take it for granted and show any kind of disrespect. I believe in traveling karma so my priority is always to be a good traveler, mindful visitor and a respectful guest.
