Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm 23 years old and have just finished my undergraduate degree in Physics and Chemistry in Trinity College Dublin. I'm chatty, social and adventurous.
I'm 100% Irish but lucky enough to have cousins scattered in far flung places such as Argentina, Canada, Australia, France and Switzerland. This has always given me a feeling of being slightly international. These days we're all connected in the global community and I think it's a wonderful thing.
I speak decent German (although I'm rusty) and very basic French. I like learning languages and have done language exchanges in the past, which I loved.
I am currently finishing my second summer working as a camp counselor near Belfast, Maine, USA.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am coming to the end of my second summer working as a camp counselor in the US. After camp ends, I am hoping to travel in the US. I would love to see lots of nature and get to know the locals wherever I go, and couchsurfing is the perfect asset to achieve this.
After I leave the US I will return to Ireland and I hope to host guests when I am a little bit more settled down. Couchsurfing seems like an amazing way to meet new and interesting folk and help other travellers out along the way.
Interests
I am an outdoorsy person, I love horses and other animals and have worked as a horseback riding instructor for two summers. I love to swim and hike. If I'm based in a city I stay grounded by meditating regularly and practising yoga.
I like to engage in activism wherever it's possible and have an interest in social and climate justice. I have attended workshops in the past focused on campaigning on issues ranging from race to plastic waste. I have been involved in campaigns such as Fossil Free, Repeal and more. I like sharing ideas on campaigning and working towards living more sustainably on a personal and collective basis.
I am a vegetarian and I love to eat yummy veggie food and share my own recipes and favourite meals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a wide range of music. Recently I've been enjoying Clairo, King Princess and Japanese House. My long time favourites are Marina and Paramore. I'll listen to almost anything and I love a good dance.
I love to read, recent books I've enjoyed are 'The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing,' Agatha Christie's, 'And Then There Were None.' Right now I'm working my way through a full volume of, 'The Lord of the Rings.' Normally I enjoy realistic fiction or fantasy novels the most.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For the past 2 summers I have worked as a camp counselor in central Maine, USA. This job was one of the most difficult yet fulfilling things I've ever done. The role is very immersive, as one lives, eats and sleeps with campers for the best part of 2 months.
I've taught horseback riding to children of all ages and language abilities and looked after groups of girls aged 12-13 and 11-12 years old.
Working as a camp counselor has been one of the most amazing things I've ever done. I've developed my empathy and helped children through all kinds of struggles.
