About Me

I'm a programmer, athlete and mostly vegetarian. I'm passionate about traveling and each year I travel more and more. In January 2019 I embarked on a South America-Australia trip buying a one-way ticket. I may now very well belong to a group of people call digital nomads. I'm not bound to any country and I work remotely to stay on the road as long as it makes me happy.

I enjoy traveling solo and meeting people from around the globe and exchanging experience. I like to ask questions and listen if one has something to talk about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started with hosting to get a feeling of how it works and what are the people like and now whenever I'm going abroad, I'm looking for an opportunity to stay with someone instead of booking a hotel, because it gives so much more. You get a chance to meet a local, you get a chance to spend time with someone (when I'm travelling alone) and those memories stick better than a memory to a hotel room.

Interests

In my childhood I started to like computers and everything around them and that still lasts. I used to play computer games and I like to create computer programs.

Apart from that, I always did some kind of a sport. To these days, I might have tried 30 different sports and physical activities and I'm still looking for something new to try. In the last few years, I've been mostly doing gymnastics (classic, trampolines, aerial silks) and calisthenics. I also enjoy skating outdoors be it on ice skates or inline skates.

I engage in various free-time activities like actually listening to music (yeah, I mean close my eyes and listen), TV series, puzzles, and many more. My latest hobby is photography and Spanish language. I also love scuba diving and I've been experimenting with freediving lately.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is quite broad, but I mostly enjoy music with a nice melody and so about 50% of my music library is composed from movie soundtrack. My favorite soundtrack composer is Hans Zimmer and I also enjoy music from Two Steps from Hell.

I read books mostly in childhood, but in last couple of year, it has been mostly internet articles or technical literature (computer science, photography).

I really like movies and TV series, I watch them to relax. I have many favorite actors and actresses and I like to talk about movies too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving on Hawaii, Mauritius (exploring Stella Maru wreck) and Mexico.
Tandem hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro.
15 000 ft skydiving in Wanaka, New Zealand.
Introduced hundreds of women into programming.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach women programming basics and I can introduce it to you if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you decide to host me, here's what you can expect.
1) I don't make any noise. I don't snore nor listen to music aloud.
2) I always respect your place. I don't touch your things a don't take your food unless we explicitly agree on something.
3) I'm clean, I leave nothing behind me, I always have my own towel and toothbrush. You will never see my things lying around without order.
4) I seldom drink and never get drunk.
5) I won't bother you unless you want to talk, which I enjoy.
6) I don't expect you to show me around but appreciate it. For me, exploring on my own is a great experience.
7) I appreciate if you let me in your kitchen to prepare a small meal once in a time. Mostly I eat out to experience local cuisine.
8) I usually spend a lot of time outside but I always want to spend some time with you. However, I don't feel comfortable in pubs, clubs or big parties with loud music. Do not host me if you just want me to go party with you. I prefer sport activities and talking somewhere I can hear you.

If you read my profile and want to host me, please acknowledge that you read these points.
