About Me

I am a 30 year-old Chilean guy. I moved to London in September 2014 to study a MSc in Organisational Psychology. I finished my masters in August 2015 and now I am willing to explore and travel around the UK and Europe as long as possible.
I am passionate about travelling, sharing experiences, meeting new people and going to cultural activities. I believe travelling is the best way of learning and developing as a human being, because it gives you a different perspective about what it is really important.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet new people from all over the world and get to know their experiences. While I am in London I could host and show the best places of this amazing city. If I am travelling I would like to explore the places with locals.

Interests

I really like all kind of artistic expression: music, literature, art, architecture. I also like history, sports in general, outdoors, biking, running.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very mixed musical taste. Kate Bush, Björk, Grimes, Chvrches, 80s. I really enjoy music!

My favourite movies are Dogville, Dancer in the Dark, Before sunrise, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Russian Ark.

My favourite books are Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky, Quixote by Cervantes, Berlin Alexanderplatz by Doblin, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy.

My favourite TV shows at the moment are Game of thrones and Downton Abbey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had always wanted to go to St. Petersburg during the white nights, but it seemed like a plan for the future. One day I googled the prices as a "what if", and they were cheap, I booked tickets, my flight departed the next day. It didn't give me time to plan how to get from the airport to the city, find out which places to visit or any basic phrases in Russian.
I got lost on the street, couldn't find my hostel, two Russians came to help me. They didn't speak English, I didn't speak Russian, we communicated using sign language, and ended up having coffee and playing typical Russian games in a cafe for hours and hours.
This trip was beyond amazing and I learnt so much and met so many wonderful people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a friendly and very sociable man, I would like to share a good conversation, share my travel experiences and learn from my hosts experiences too. Hopefully we can share a laugh together and enjoy listening to our own stories.
I can also teach you Spanish or anything you like to know about South American culture!
