ABOUT ME

I am an easy going, down to earth individual that loves to meet new people and experience new things. I am curious and love to learn about other people's cultures and lifestyles. I was a foreign exchange student in a Belgian high school for a year. Since then, I have been hooked on languages and experiencing a new environment through the help of the locals!

I am a loyal and kind friend that has so much love to give! I love to explore new places and my idea of a fun day would be wandering aimlessly through the streets trying different beers and food, sitting on the grass talking about anything and everything. I'm pretty easy to talk to and always there to lend a helping hand. I have been traveling all alone before and I know how much it is appreciated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People on here are awesome! Everyone I've met is open to new experiences and are not afraid of a little adventure outside of ones comfort levels :) I want to meet you, travel with you, or just learn how to say hello nice to meet you in your native language.

Interests

I am very energetic! I run every day for fun. It is that runners high that hooks me!

I love animals and growing up my parents and I went on long hiking trips during the weekends to birdwatch. Yes, that is a thing in California, a rare thing but nevertheless a thing. :):)

Reading is something I do very frequently. I could talk your ear off about literature. I love going on long bike rides too! It is so refreshing, and you can bring a picnic and beer for a quick break stop! :)

I did my bachelor in neurobiology and physiology in California, and I spent most of my days volunteering at a local student-run clinic that provides free medical services to undocumented migrant workers that can't afford medical care. I was there for four years, and I found the job most fulfilling. I am now studying towards my Masters of Public Health degree in Hamburg, Germany :) :)

Did I mention I love hiking? I need some nature in my life at least once a week! Oh and of course I also like checking out the night life! :):)

I love Alt J, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, Snakeships, The XX, The Beatles, Stromae, The Mamas and the Papas, The Lumineers, OK KID, The Kooks, The Kinks, Cold War Kids, Kings of Convenience, Nirvana, Beginner, Rufus, The Tallest Man on Earth, Eric Clapton, Jefferson Airplane, Nirvana, Flume, Black Mountain, The Delta Saints, Fleet Foxes. Basically any rock that is indie, psychedelic, bluegrassy, grundgy or otherwise folky.

Books: 1984, Ender's Game, Outliers, Crime and Punishment, Grapes of Wrath, Anna Karenina, Portrait of Dorian Gray, Don Quixote, Les Miserables.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove over 10,000 km (I drove it alll!!) it was roadtrip starting from Berlin through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden Norway, Copenhagen, Netherlands, and Belgium :) Then ended the roadtrip by seeing Paul McCartney live in concert :D!

Police thought I was kidnapped in Caracas, Venezuela when I was actually hiking an 8 hour hike up to the top of a mountain :)
