I'm German-born, but grew up in central Pennsylvania. During my college years, I lived in the Twin Cities. Currently, I'm a graduate student in linguistics in California, but as part of my fieldwork, I spend part of the year in a remote village in Vanuatu.

I have friends and family throughout the US and Europe and love to meet new people while traveling. If I have the means, I like to support people traveling on a budget with alternative lodging options.
