My name is pronounced 'Onia'. I have met so many amazing people through CS and I love how it allows you to see a place through the eyes of a local person.

I am great fun, adventurous and easygoing. I won't wreck your house, I'll tell you hilarious stories and I'll wash the dishes! I might even teach you some Irish!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will host when/wherever I can and I want to continue to surf as much as possible! I will give floorspace and a mattress if I have no couch and I will be an awesome tour guide!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed all over the world at this stage. I have some great memories and met some great people. Notable experiences: getting thrown an almighty birthday party in Paraguay, visiting a traditional longboat in Borneo and getting drunk on homemade rice wine. Smuggling said rice wine into Brunei the next day; doing the Hai Van pass in Vietnam with my host on her scooter; meeting families and friends, eating local food, getting private tours, generousity , a hundred thousand welcomes and buena onda!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I crossed Canada on a train and lived in Yellowknife in the Arctic, under the Northern lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer!

I climbed a mountain with a Chinese mountaineering club in Anhui province. We were the first foreigners to the top! (Alright, fine, I was actually the second foreigner and I was ten metres from the top)

I travelled to Western Sichuan Province to explore Tibetan China on the Tibetan plateau - roof of the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about Ireland, our history and people. I can also teach you a few words in Irish! I can tell you stories of Irish mythology and legends that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

I can teach you English ( I worked as an English teacher) and I'd like to practise my Spanish too. I will sing after a few drinks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my tips for places in Ireland and other countries I've lived/visited. Also - stories, stories and more stories, laughs and I will wash the dishes. I'm great at dishes.
