About Me
Dear Couchsurfing-Community,
I am Sarah, 22 years old, was born in Bavaria, grew up in Leipzig, studied in Münster, and after a GapYear with internships in Mainz and Hamburg and voluntary work in Cusco, Peru, returned to Münster for my master degree.
I study psychology, and I developed a genuine passion for it - to find answers for the question why humans do what they do is the most interesting and thrilling thing I could think about.
I lived in Ireland for three months when I was in highschool, I spent a semester abroad in Berkeley, California and I worked voluntarily in Cusco, Peru, for two months. I love all the places where I have lived so far, but I want to travel and explore more - there is so much left to see!
I am outgoing and open-minded, very accepting and do my best to be non-judgemental. Generally, people would probably describe me as down to earth, even-tempered and reliable. Nevertheless, I am open for pretty much everything that sounds like fun and adventure. It am easily excited, and it is as easy if not even easier to make me laugh about stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the whole idea that stands behind couchsurfing. I have made great experiences so far that showed me what makes the couchsurfing community so wonderful.
Interests
I love to travel, as probably all couchsurfers do. Since I have lived abroad for one semester, I especially aspire to live in a country for a longer time, not only as a tourist. If that is not possible, I at least want to make the best out of my stay and get to know the people living there, and the area through the eyes of a local. Traveling like this makes everything more meaningful.
Connected to traveling, I love to get to know new people. You could nearly say that I have a passion for people. I love to listen to people and get a snapshot of their life and hear their stories. It is inspiring and impressive what some people I met have experienced, what made them become what they are today, and how this shapes their views on the world.
There are a couple of things I enjoy to do in my freetime: dancing (whatever style, what I do not know so far I want to learn!), exploring nature, hiking, enjoying a beer with friends, cooking with my flatmates, playing the piano, reading books, and enjoying the little things in life that are free and make it so precious.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran down the Grand Canyon (we were afraid of the dark arriving before we would be at the top again, so we decided to run for a while on our way to the plateau). On our way back we chose an untypical route, and thought at some point that we had lost our trail. We were in the middle of nowhere, we did not see another human being for nearly 2 hours. But we stayed calm and finally made it to the proper trail. It was exhausting and scary, but it was one of the most impressive and beautiful things I have done.
