About Me

I am currently studying Geography in Germany ;) and working hard to make an influence on lives of others!
I was born and raised in the Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It's such a place to be but when I was 17 I knew one day I would go further. When I was 19, after struggling with the German language for a year, I packed my bag and flew over to Germany to start the new phase of my life called "study abroad". I'm now having the best days of my life here and won't stop making it more spectacular. Be a part of it!

Being genuine makes my life much easier.

By the first look, people might think I'm nerdy. They are right.
From the inside, I know, nerdy is just a proper word to describe me in when it comes to exams and those things that could make my parents feel "ok" about their son. I tend to do unusual and crazy things, especially when I have a supportive companion.
I'm quite open and up to any things new, with a little bit spice of adventure. One of the most important goals of my life is to learn to love myself and to take care of my loved ones :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

No, I just enjoy the feeling of being at risk sleeping in stranger's house and wondering when they are gonna chop my head off.
Haha no, I love meeting new people and making new friends.

Interests

Huhm... it's hard to choose something specific because I'm just like a child who is interested in anything, from politics to Harry Potter.
I really enjoy talking about stereotypes, identities, culture and life abroad, about the differences in the mentality of people from culture to culture.

  • culture
  • documentaries
  • cooking
  • politics
  • movies
  • lgbt
  • environmental justice
  • environmentalism
  • identity
  • race

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of stuff, buddy: Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Simple Plan, Daughtry, Green Day,... On rainy days, I tend to dig up Youtube to find old music videos boy bands who used to rule the world or even Hannah Montana :D

I grew up reading Harry Potter and still hopelessly waiting for my Acceptance Letter to Hogwarts since 11 years. Nowadays I enjoy reading stuff involved culture and ethnicity.

About movies: Wong Kar Wai movies anyone? Xavier Dolan, Quentin, mainstream because why not?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been through 23 years successfully being a son of my parents.

I can stand being myself, it's not easy at all:))

I survived a 22-hour bus drive from Cape Town to Johannesburg haha

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, the first thing I could think of is my mother tongue, which is Vietnamese. Sure I can teach you that, or even German.
I can cook Vietnamese foods too (don't tell my mom though).
I also master in procrastination if you want to give your busy life a break.
I am pretty interested in talking about identity politics, so everything that makes us who we are, race, class, gender, sexual orientation...

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experiences, my stories, my ability to entertain people (don't think it that way) and my enthusiasm.
