About Me

My name is Sandra van der Kamp. In november 2014 I traveled through Central America. This trip ended on the 4th of april, 2015. Now I'm back in the Netherlands with the best travel experience.

Now, back at home, I work as a teacher. I teach Dutch, altough I also teached math and music.

I am a happy and positive person! i am honest and like to joke around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting other people who can learn me more about the culture, show me the best spots and introduce me to the city. Besides I like to learn people about my culture and country if they'll be interested!

In the Netherlands I can host people as well, bit then I wanna talk to the person first (on CS). So if you looking for a place to stay, just send me a message and I'll answer you!

Interests

I like meeting people, hanging out, watching movies with friends, making music, read from time to time, visiting festivals or just have a drink in a nice city!

Music, Movies, and Books

All music will do!

There are so many movies I like. Avatar, Rise of the planet of the apes, Harry Potter (all of them! And no, I'm not a nerd), Frequency, Ladder 49, Salt, Marley & me (if you didn't cry with this movie, then don't reply, haha), The Vow, The Hunger Games, The Notebook, Hide and seek, Behind enemy lines, Blood diamond, Shawn shank redemption.. And a LOT more!
And to be honest, all disney movies are amazing for on a lazy sunday! (Lion King, Finding Nemo, Shrek, etc. )

I got some favorite dutch writers, like Simone van der Vlught or Heleen Vreeswijk, but I think most people don't know them.
Best books I read during my travel were:
'Flowers for Algernon - Daniel Keyes' and 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest - Ken Kesey'.
Both really good books!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Making my own choices,
traveling without a plan,
Making kids believe in themselves.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook quite a good meal. Besides I am a very social person. I like playing cards or just hang out and talk with people. I like to do things together with others but also will manage on my own (wich I don't prefer, haha!) Also I like to make music (altough I'm not traveling with any instrument at the moment). At my home I have an (electronic) piano and a guitar.
