I grew up in a small village as a quiet and shy person, family is very important to me. We are a bunch of misfits or non-conformists if you will, of the kind sort.
As a teenager i was ill a lot and unable to find my way in society, in my twenties my health got better again and started studying, only to discover more or less the same thing: There's no place for skilled and creative people in companies anymore. Our knowledge, skills and experience are reduced to plain numbers.

Thus i decided to 'abandon' money and try to find a more human way of life. The bicycle is now my main means of transport and my knowledge on electronics my income.
Currently cycling the world to find the edge of being human or perhaps life? Living on the edge makes you more aware and resourceful. Trying to help others whenever i can.

=PHILOSOPHY=
Try to live as free as possible without any contracts that chain or bind your life.
We need other people to feel human, to feel whole. Sharing plays a big part in that.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I don't like hotels, you miss out on a lot of stories, knowledge, experiences and most of all people!
Also we forget to give and receive when we use hotels too much.

2014 was a good year. Made loads of friends and surfed a few couches on my bicycle trip from home to Munich.

I very much like people, but i am also very fond of my shed and tools. Ever since my very first years in life i was mesmerized by the awesome phenomena called electricity. It wasn't long before my hands got hold of a soldering iron.
From the first light bulb to satellites discovering the universe, the possibilities seem to be endless.

My interest in romance and history (as a dutch person) led me to possibly one of the last romantic means of personal transport: the bicycle.
Humble, simple and affordable. Not too fast, not too slow.

I don't read much, but like to watch and talk ;)

Metal music and rock goes well on the road, at home movie themes, world music, electronic and of course lots of folk music.

I watch movies in winter, one company that always knows how to satisfy me is Studio Ghibli (animation).
