About Me
Hi there travellers!
I'm Mylène, french and 25. Nice, funny and open-minded (so I like to think). I studied cinema in research, for 6 years, until I thought "I want to travel. So why not getting paid for it as well?" Currently lookink for a job in a flight company, I spend my time perfecting my english by watching tons of movies and series, and learning pop rock song's lyrics.
I live in Lille, a beautiful city in the North of France, since 2011. I don't have much experience in couhcsurfing because, lucky me, I always knew someone in each city or country I went to. I've welcomed a few people though, and everytime, it was great and enriching. I have an amazing roomate who studies journalism and speaks english better than me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is the perfect way to meet foreigners, discover new people, new languages, new meals and, the most important, new ways of thinking.
Interests
Cinema, series and music are on top of my list. I love to hang out with my friends, drink beers and dance on 80-90's music. Politic can sometimes be a topic I like to treat. Going to museums, travelling, shopping without buying, running at the citadelle of Lille once a month (or once a semester...), concerts, food and cute little things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Even if I hate the question "What's your favorite movie?", here is an arbitrary list of films and directors I cherish:
David Fincher, Seven ; Michel Gondry, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ; Riad Sattouf, Les Beaux Gosses ; Martin Scorcese, The Departed ; Billy Wilder, Some Like It Hot
Six Feet Under is my favorite serie in the whole world. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, House of cards, Parks and recreation and the Office are the next ones.
Books I love : Lord of the flies by William Golding, When I was five I killed myself by Howard Buten and Vendredi, ou les Limbes du Pacifique by Michel Tournier.
Music of the moment : Pulp, Christine and The Queens, Tame Impala, Jacques Brel, Daniel Avery, Arcade Fire, CHVRCHES, Tobbias Jesso Jr., Simon and Garfunkel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once, I took the bus with John Robinson (the blond guy in Gus Van Sant's Elephant), and when we stopped, my friend talked to him and I touched his arm. Yeah.
And also I went to Colombia (not Columbia) for a month, and it was the most amazing thing I ever did.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach french and help with english (a little bit), and I'd love to learn spanish!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer my kindness, my weird jokes and nice meals I like to prepare with love.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Colombia, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
