ABOUT ME

I'm Zoë! I'm an actor and stunt performer from Australia. I'm currently on epic motorcycle journeys around the States with my noble steed, Penfold the v-twin. I'm up to sixteen states including AK! I love music and theatre and camping and outdoors and having amazing experiences with amazing people...like you! I can solve a Rubik's cube but my hair is always a mess.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It just seems like a far more wonderful way of travelling. When I travelled in Europe I had far better experiences couchsurfing than Air BnBing. I just love people and my favourite thing about travelling is just being around people. I want to feel like I'm actually in a place, with locals, rather than in the outskirts as a tourist.

Interests

books, music, birds, picnics, sewing, vintage clothes...wow looking back at this list it turns out I'm a hipster. Don't hold it against me. But also hiking, camping, motorcycles, anything outdoors, and learning new creative skills - I made my first pirate hat a few weeks ago! And I am taking ice skating classes.

Favourite movies: The Hudsucker Proxy, The Prestige, The Illusionist (the cartoon), The Fall, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Human Nature, V for Vendetta, Micmacs A Tire Larigot, Reefer Madness, anything Studio Ghibli or Wes Anderson!

Music...Anything that takes my fancy at that moment. Ska, big bands, Norwegian metal, 19th century Russian music, musicals, cheesy pop music, prog rock, and of course Kate Bush and David Bowie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago I rescued a baby rainbow lorikeet (a little parrot for you non-Australians) and she became my best friend, and sat on my shoulder or my head, or inside my scarf if she was cold, and came with me everywhere I went. At night we'd snuggle and watch movies together, and she loved walking around on my laptop licking the screen. She was magical.

Also, on my USA journey I made a portable solar generator with my friends and took it to donate to the Sioux tribe at Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could probably teach you how to do a backflip. And I used to teach seduction so I'm a pretty good wingman. And Australians have some pretty silly ways of speaking; I can teach you how to speak Australian. I can pull the carburetor out of your motorcycle, clean it and put it back in. But don't ask me to drive a car...I'm not sure which foot thing is for stop and which is for go.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am hoping to have some magical adventures while I'm in the States, and I'm a pretty good adventure buddy! I like accompanying people on their errands and just hanging out. At home I'm good for red wine and chats, awesome TV show recommendations, setting up a Slip 'N' Slide, playing poker, or just being quiet and keeping to myself when you need.
